Director Bala’s latest offering, Vanangaan, has Arun Vijay stepping into the lead role, while Roshini Prakash plays the female lead. This film marks the first collaboration between the actor and the director.
Vanangaan had initially roped in actor Suriya for the lead. However, the actor’s unexpected exit from the film partway paved the way for Arun Vijay. The film had generated considerable buzz right from its announcement. Its shoot kicked off in Kanyakumari and was underway for 35 days until Suriya declared his departure. Subsequent filming took place with Arun Vijay in locales like Tiruvannamalai.
With production under V House Productions and B Studios, the film also sees Roshini Prakash sharing screen space with Arun Vijay. Notably, director Mysskin is also reportedly playing a significant role. GV Prakash takes charge of the musical score.
Today, the Vanangaan crew unveiled Arun Vijay’s first look poster, sending waves across social media. With Arun Vijay portraying a fisherman, the poster presents him covered in mud, simultaneously representing both atheistic and theistic beliefs. He is seen gripping images of Periyar and Pillaiyar, which has left fans pondering about the underlying message. Arun Vijay shared his excitement on Twitter:

The poster has sparked varied reactions, with some applauding Bala’s daring portrayal and others considering Suriya’s decision to leave the project as justified.
Director Bala, known for his compelling narratives, has previously delivered hits like Sethu, Nandha, Pithamagan, and others. His films have always garnered attention, making Vanangaan’s release even more eagerly awaited.
