The glamour, the suspense, and the joyous victories – SIIMA 2023 has it all! The most awaited cinematic event of the year, the South Indian International Movie Awards, did not disappoint. From seasoned veterans to up-and-coming talents, this year’s award ceremony honored the best in Kannada cinema.

Among the movies that led the charge were blockbuster successes like Kantara, KGF Chapter 2, and several others that captivated audiences. It was no surprise when Kantara emerged as a big winner of the night, with both the movie and its cast receiving multiple accolades.
Rishab Shetty, the powerhouse performer, was lauded for his role in Kantara, clinching the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Critics). That wasn’t all for the actor; he also bagged the Special Appreciation Award for a Pathbreaking Story.
The night was equally special for newcomers who made a significant impact with their debut performances. Pruthvi Shamanur dazzled with his act in Padavi Poorva, which won him the Best Debutant Actor (Kannada) award. On the production front, the duo of Pawan Wadeyar and Apeksha Purohit received the Best Debutant Producer (Kannada) award for their film Dollu.
In other notable mentions, 777 Charlie secured its position as the Best Film (Kannada), while the title of Sensation of the Year went to Karthikeya 2.
As the event celebrated cinematic excellence, Achyuth Kunar was acknowledged as the Best Actor in a Negative Role for Kantara, while Diganth Manchale and Shubha Raksha were honored for their commendable performances in Gaalipata 2 and Home Minister, respectively.
