Mark your calendars, cinema aficionados! The 2011 critically acclaimed VK Prakash directorial, ‘Beautiful’, is gearing up for a sequel. As the buzz had it, Anoop Menon, a key figure from the original cast and also the scenarist, took to his social media to confirm the news and share insights.
However, there’s a twist! While Anoop Menon and Meghana Raj are expected to reprise their roles, Jayasurya will not be joining the sequel. Anoop shared that a different actor would fill the spot, aligning with the narrative demands of the new script.
Reprising his role behind the camera, VK Prakash will helm the sequel aptly titled ‘Beautiful 2’. An ensemble of adept technicians, many of whom contributed to the original’s success, are onboard. To name a few: Jomon T John as the cinematographer, Mahesh Narayanan editing the visuals, Ratheesh Vega for the music, and Ajay Mangad spearheading art direction. Furthermore, Unni Menon will be making an appearance in the film.
Sharing his enthusiasm, Anoop Menon mentioned, “We’re thrilled to announce ‘BEAUTIFUL 2’ under the banner of Badusha Productions and Yes Cinema company. The dream team from the first installment, including VKP and myself, is back. However, Jayasurya won’t be accompanying us this time. We’re scouting for the perfect replacement. Stay tuned! The shoot kicks off in Vancouver come January 2024.”
