The anticipation for Prabhas’ latest film, Salaar, has reached new heights with the release of its thrilling trailer. Adding to the excitement, the film’s cinematographer, Bhuvan Gowda, recently revealed some fascinating details about the film’s production, hinting at a cinematic experience that surpasses even the grandeur of the much-celebrated KGF.
Bhuvan Gowda shared some intriguing insights into the making of Salaar. He said, “Imagine the vastness of Ramoji Film City – now double that for Salaar. Our team, led by Art Director Shivakumar, has crafted an expansive world spanning over 100 acres, including a massive wall and sets in Dandumailaram that occupy another 100 acres. We’ve pushed the boundaries of scale, making Salaar five times more grand than KGF. The technical advancements we’ve made are unparalleled in Indian cinema.”
A key highlight of Salaar is its commitment to realism and grandeur. The film extensively uses real sets, with 95% of the scenes shot on these massive, meticulously constructed locations and minimal reliance on CGI. This approach brings an unparalleled authenticity to the visual narrative.
The technical prowess of Salaar is further exemplified by the use of the latest camera technology. Bhuvan mentioned, “We’ve employed the new Alexa 35 camera, which delivers IMAX-like image quality even on regular screens. It’s a first in Indian cinema and ensures that every frame in Salaar is a visual treat.”
With a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes, Salaar has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board. This rating reflects the film’s intense and gripping content, marked by vivid battle scenes and impactful violence.
The cast of Salaar, led by Prabhas, also includes renowned actors like Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. The film, with a staggering budget of Rs 400 crore, is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films and directed by the talented Prashanth Neel. Fans are eagerly counting down to December 22, when Salaar will make its grand entry into theatres, setting up an exciting clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki.
