From crafting spellbinding soundscapes to stepping into the directorial spotlight, Resul Pookutty is all set to make waves in the Malayalam film industry with ‘Otta’. The film’s teaser, released on Tuesday, offers audiences a heart-wrenching glimpse into the world of two young boys who flee from their homes, seeking love and belonging.
The narrative explores the tumultuous lives of the protagonists who, feeling neglected by their families, embark on a journey spanning Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The star-studded cast includes stalwarts from both states – Asif Ali, Arjun Ashokan, Sathyaraj, Rohini, Indrajith Sukumaran, and others. Notably, the film also introduces Resul’s brother, Baiju Pookutty, and actress Jalaja’s daughter, Devi Nair.
Drawing inspiration from S Hariharan’s renowned book, “Runaway Children”, the storyline reflects the real-life experiences of the author. Moreover, the movie, co-produced by Hariharan and Pookutty, is poised to touch hearts not just in India but globally.
Lending a melodic touch to the poignant story is M Jayachandran’s music, beautifully complemented by Rafeeq Ahamed’s lyrics. With Arun Varam behind the lens and Zian Sreekanth’s editing skills, the film promises a cinematic treat.
Currently, while ‘Otta’ captures the audience’s attention, Resul Pookutty continues to weave auditory magic in other projects like ‘Puspa The Rule’, ‘Aadujjevitham’, and ‘Vadakkan’.
