In a groundbreaking move, Jr. NTR’s much-anticipated movie Devara: Part 1 has already created a buzz in the film industry, securing a jaw-dropping deal of over 170 crore for theatrical rights across the Telugu states and North India. This staggering amount sets the stage for what could be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024.
The buzz is that Anil Thadani’s AA Films alongside Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions have bagged the North India theatrical distribution rights for a whopping 50 crores. Meanwhile, in the Telugu heartland of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Suryadevara Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainment appears to be leading the race, with an offer that crosses the 120 crore mark. This partnership could mark a significant milestone in the regional film distribution sector, highlighting the movie’s anticipated pan-Indian appeal.
Devara: Part 1, slated for a multi-language release on October 10, 2024, features a star-studded cast including Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Prakash Raj, among others. The film, which will be released in two parts, held its grand puja ceremony in Hyderabad, signaling a promising start to its production.
With an overall expected pre-release theatrical revenue of approximately 200 crores and an additional 150 crores from non-theatrical rights, Devara: Part 1 is poised to be a financially robust project. Given the film’s budget, which is estimated to be between 200-250 crores, the pre-release deals have already secured a safe zone for the producers.
Jr. NTR, whose pan-India journey seems to be on a strategic upward trajectory, is also set to shine in the upcoming War 2, sharing the screen with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.
