Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 has been a roller-coaster of emotions, controversies, and fan wars. The latest controversy to hit the headlines involves Jiya Shankar, who was accused by fans of Manisha Rani of bribing the media to tarnish Rani’s reputation.
The root of the controversy lies in Jiya’s on-screen bond with Abhishek Malhan, which didn’t sit well with fans who adored Manisha’s chemistry with him. These fans took to social media, alleging that Jiya paid a whopping Rs. 4 lakhs to defame Manisha.
Jiya, clearly upset by these allegations, decided to address them head-on. In a video shared on social media, which was later reposted by Bigg Boss OTT, Jiya sarcastically responded, “You guys are claiming I paid Viral Bhayani four lakhs to defame Manisha? Not four lakhs, I gave one crore! What’s with this baseless news? Get your facts straight. Why did I work so hard if you’re going to downplay my efforts?”
She further added, with a hint of sarcasm, “My PR is clearly not doing its job if you’re undervaluing my supposed bribe.”
In a subsequent interview, Jiya reiterated her stance, emphasizing that she doesn’t possess the kind of money that’s being talked about to hand out to the media.
Jiya Shankar managed to reach the top six of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 but was evicted in the final week. Meanwhile, both Manisha Rani and Abhishek Malhan secured spots in the top three, with Elvish Yadav ultimately winning the show.
