Now, if the grapevine is to be believed, Imran is poised to make a triumphant return to acting, not on the silver screen, but through the burgeoning OTT platform. Having taken a hiatus from the film industry in 2015, this upcoming project will not only be his acting comeback but also his inaugural venture into the OTT space.
A source close to the developments shared with a publication, “The upcoming espionage thriller is still in the pre-production phase. If all goes well, we could see it starting production by year’s end. Imran’s role as an intelligence officer is set to be a dramatic shift from his familiar boy-next-door persona. Many actors have been venturing into the OTT realm, and it’s been on Imran’s radar for some time. Out of the myriad of scripts he perused, this particular South Asian-set thriller truly piqued his interest.”
For the uninitiated, the last time audiences caught a glimpse of Imran Khan on screen was in 2015’s ‘Katti Batti’ where he starred alongside Kangana Ranaut. If the rumors hold water, fans are in for a treat as they’ll soon see Imran don a completely new avatar in his forthcoming OTT venture.
